Experimenting with sardine recipes— I actually love this one.
1 can sardines (slightly smoked kind I prefer)
couple tablespoons of cream cheese
2 -3 teaspoons lemon juice
pinch of red pepper flakes
(bacon grease-optional--)
2 Red leaf lettuce (outer leaves) of choice
Drain sardines. Saute in bacon grease or whatever till just starting to brown on both sides. Mash with lemon juice and add a bit of red pepper flakes.
Place cream cheese on top of lettuce. Place mashed sardines on top. Add a bit more cream cheese and roll up.
